Issue 1: To Increase the Maximum age at which a Person may be elected or appointed Judge to eliminate the authority of the General Assembly to establish courts of Conciliation, and to eliminate the authority of the Governor to appoint a Supreme Court Commission

Purpose: To monitor the local, state, and federal legislative issues pertinent to the economic and social welfare of the membership, and initiate, where appropriate, positions on those issues in response to the needs of the membership and community at large.

The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce considers its role in legislative matters to be three-fold. That is to identify issues of concern to the Troy business community, communicate the essence of those issues to our members and to facilitate open forums for discussion and action. As part of our facilitation and communication process, we conduct five formal outreach programs on local issues each year (a sixth is on federal issues).
