Business Partners LOGO
Purpose: To lend advisory support to educators for curriculum recommendations, understanding of the changing business environment, and preparing the workforce of tomorrow. The committee brings together businesses and educators and identifies programs, projects that benefit the students in our community. Some of the programs include: “Accounting for kids Day”; Welcome New Teachers Breakfast, and School to Business Partners Program.

The Business Advisory to Education Committee also administers a scholarship for the Ohio Business Week (OBW), a nationally acclaimed entrepreneurship education program for high school students. OBW is a rigorous weeklong summer camp experience for high school students of all ages and career interests. Funded, organized and implemented by Ohio business people, the program now boasts more than 5,200 graduates statewide since 1989. The Troy Area Chamber of Commerce has proudly supported the Ohio Business Week Foundation and its efforts to encourage Miami County students to take advantage of this life-changing opportunity. Since 2001, 64 students have represented Miami County at the program, a direct result of our outreach efforts and the community’s support.
